ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office claiming that US President wanted an exclusive visit of Pakistan, has confirmed that his 24th and 25th India-visit would not include Pakistan.
FO Spokesperson Aisha Farooqi has informed that the US president was invited to visit Pakistan by Prime Minister Imran Khan during his July 2019 visit to Washington. The debate about Trump’s visit to Pakistan got renewed during the recent World Economic orum in Davos when he was asked about his plans to visit Pakistan.
FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi had proclaimed (prematurely) that Trump would visit Pakistan soon. It is believed that Trump’s Pakistan visit would be linked to progress on Afghan peace process. FO spokesperson, while insinuating that the visit could take place later this year held that Pakistan and USA were working on it.

Kashmir Issue: Trump again offers to play a role
DAVOS (Switzerland): Speaking to the Media here before a formal meeting with PM Imran Khan here today on the sidelines of World Economic Forum, US President Donald Trump has again offered to play a role regarding Kashmir issue.
Stating that he had been closely monitoring the situation in occupied Kashmir, Trump said he would discuss the Kashmir issue with PM Imran Khan. Trump held that Pakistan and the United States enjoyed good relations and the two countries were never as much close as they were today.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, speaking on the occasion held: “Pakistan desires peace in the region and will continue playing a role for regional peace and stability”. He further told that Afghan issue would also be discussed with President Trump.
Prime Minister Imran Khan leaves for Davos to attend WEF Annual Meeting
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for Davos (Switzerland) to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s annual meeting.
Imran Khan is accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razaq Dawood, Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari and Special Assistant National Security Division Mooed Yusuf.
According to sources, adviser on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Ambassador at large for Investments Ali Jehangir Siddiqui will be joining him shortly.
Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to deliver keynote address at the Special Session. He will also interact at the Pakistan Strategy Dialogue with CEOs and corporate leaders. He will hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders including the US President Donald Trump, on the sidelines.
A number of corporate, business, technology and finance executives and representatives of international financial institutions will be meeting the Prime Minister. During a session with the Forum’s International Media Council he will also talk to senior journalists.
