Turkey Polls: Erdogan emerges as winner!

ISTANBUL: As votes are being counted all over Turkey after the closing of polls today, Tayyip Erdoğan and his ruling AK Party emerge as winners.

Many held earlier that snap election represented the biggest electoral threat for President Erdoğan in 15 years. While ruling Turkey, Erdoğan had consolidated power and crushed anti-government protests. After the failed military coup of 2016  he fired thouseda of government workers and jailed many.

Though a section of Press – lamenting government dominance of the media alleged mass rigging – it is quite certain that 64-year-old Tayyip Erdogan’s reign has not finished yet.
