ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi and his Turkish Counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a meeting here on Thursday.
Two brotherly countries have agreed to support each other on issues of core national interest. The duo stressed on the importance of transforming terms into economic joint venture.
Dr Alvi apprised President Erdogan of the worsening human rights situation in IoK and thanked President Erdogan for his stand on the subject.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan received the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the first lady Emine who arrived at the Noor Khan Airbase here today on a two-day visit to Pakistan.
Distinguished guest was accorded Guard of Honor at the Prime Minister House.

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is arriving here today (13th of February, 2020) on the invitation of PM Imran Khan on a two-day tour.
Honorable guest will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising of CEOs of major Turkish Corporations, cabinet members and senior government officials.
Following a rendezvous PM Imran Khan and President Tayyip Erdogan will co-chair the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) in the joint cabinet format. That will be followed by signing of a Joint Declaration. During Erdogan’s visit a number of important agreements /MoUs will be finalized.
President Erdogan will also address a Joint Session of the Parliament here. Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Erdogan will also address the Pakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum.
Turkey Earthquake: Pakistan offers to lend assistance

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken to the Twitter to express grief over the loss of precious lives in the tremor that shook Turkey yesterday (Friday 24th of January, 2020) and offer to lend assistance to Ankara.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of so many precious lives and of hundreds injured in Turkey’s earthquake. Our thoughts and prayers are with the brotherly people and government of Turkey. Pakistan stands by them and is ready to lend any assistance in this hour of need,” Prime Minister Imran Khan stated as the death toll augmented to 22 with over a thousand people injured.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi spoke to his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu and extended condolences on behalf of the president, prime minister and the people of Pakistan: “Spoke to my brother FM Mevlut Cavusoglu of Turkey and condoled on behalf of President, PM & people of Pakistan for lives lost in the devastating earthquake. Pakistan has offered to send field hospital & rescue team to assist. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Turkish nation.
Meanwhile a contingent of the Pakistan army, including a special rescue and relief team and field medical facilities, has been readied as part of the assistance offered to Turkey.
Earthquake hits Turkey, 18 killed, 500 injured
Eighteen people died and 500 got injured when an earthquake measuring 6.8 on Richter Scale hit yesterday (Friday 24th of January, 2020) at 8:55 PM local time (1755 GMT) at a depth of 6.7 kilometers near Sivrice.
Victims buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings in Elazig province and neighboring Malatya were rescued by emergency workers and security forces who also provided tents, beds and blankets as overnight temperatures dropped below freezing in the affected areas.
Mosques, schools, sports halls and student dormitories were opened for hundreds who left their homes after the quake that was followed by 228 aftershocks. According to reports five buildings in Sivrice and 25 in Malatya province were destroyed.
