LAHORE: Fawad Chaudhry, a prominent anchor and former leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Chaudhry, a prominent lawyer and owner of a law firm, has also been awarded a party ticket for NA-63 from his ancestral hometown of Jhelum.
He took to twitter to make the announcement. In his twitter post, Chaudhry said that he is grateful to PTI Chairman Imran Khan for awarding ticket for Jhelum by-election.
He said that he is trying to unite opposition under one banner.
Chaudhry had also served as the spokesman for former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and as a Secretary General of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).
Later, he part his ways from APML and joined the Pakistan People’s Party.
