ISLAMABAD: Despite Eid-ul-Fitr holidays a UAE Economic Delegation visited Pakistan on Tuesday (3rd of May, 2022) and called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The Joint Statement issued after the rendezvous informed: “Following the visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to UAE, the UAE Economic Delegation paid an important visit to Pakistan on 3 May 2022 and called on Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
“Talking to the delegation, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated them on Eid-ul-Fitr and thanked them for coming to Pakistan during the Eid holidays.
“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the Government of Pakistan attached great importance to its fraternal relations with the United Arab Emirates and was keen to take these relations to a new level, especially on the economic front.
“The arrival of the Economic Delegation (UAE) during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays is a sign of the UAE government’s keen interest in investing in Pakistan. The Pakistan warmly welcomes the fraternal attitude of the UAE and welcomes the keen interest in making significant and investments.
“During the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation in trade, energy, infrastructure, petroleum and other important sectors.The two sides agreed to maintain close ties to implement the decisions of the two countries’ leadership on investment and trade.”
Earlier, PM Shehbaz Sharif took to the Twitter to state: “I look forward to engaging with high-powered economic team of the UAE today. This visit is a follow-up to my meeting with HH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed in which we had resolved to comprehensively upgrade bilateral economic, trade & investment cooperation.”
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, in a tweet held that the visit was immediate response of UAE leadership to the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the country.
She said the delegation would dilate upon ways and means to promote trade and investment relations and to implement the decisions taken by leadership of both the countries at recent Abu Dhabi meeting.
The delegation would be apprised of Pakistan’s investment policy and environment. Marriyum Aurangzeb said the deliberations would also focus on cooperation in the areas of energy and petroleum industry.”
