ISLAMABAD: Bollywood’s movie Udta Punjab, based on drug-addiction amongst youngsters in Punjab, seems all set to be released here in Pakistan. The release date is yet to be ascertained.
Apropos to this, chairperson Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC), Mobashir Hasan from Islamabad held: “All the foul language, including swearing at and derogatory words, remarks have been muted along with certain excisions of scenes.”
The movie has been granted ‘A’ rating by the Full Board of CBFC (Central Board of Film Censors). He further noted: “Scenes which even subtly refer to Pakistan, word ‘786’, words Maryam kee seerat and all the foul language and such words have been excised, muted and beeped.”
On the other hand, the Sindh Board of Film Certification is yet to provide a go-ahead nod to the flick. In this context, chairperson of the Sindh Censor Board, Fakhr-e-Alam stated: “We have asked a local distributor and importer to mute all abusive language as that is a direct violation of the existing censor code, and a few cuts. The film will be certified soon and hopefully released soon.”
A forceful but interesting message-based movie Udta Punjab starrer persuasive and prominent acts by Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
Alam further added: “Its powerful cinema. Alia Bhatt has just set the bar too high for all the leading ladies’.
