Ukraine: US will not deploy troops

WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden, while talking to journalists here, has said that there was no intention of his administration or within NATO to send troops into Ukraine.

Nevertheless, President Biden warned that Russia would face serious economic consequences if it opts to invade Ukraine that “would be the largest invasion since World War II”.

Holding that such act from Russia would change the world, Joe Biden made clear that the US defense department’s ready-to-deploy alert for some 8,500 US troops was not s sole US operation but a NATO operation.

It is pertinent to mention here that savants are of the view that the effects of a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine will be felt all over Europe and beyond. Presently, tens of thousands of Russian troops amassed on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
