LONDON: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who will be seeing Donald Thump this week, has informed that he was in regular contact with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensk.
Starmer had talked to French leader Emmanuel Macron upon his return from Washington on 25th February. He said that UK will have to continue terms with both EU and USA. Earlier, President Trump stated that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron had not done anything to end the Ukraine-Russia War.

It may be recalled that Macron while harboring on the subject of deploying troops in Ukraine ensuring its security, Macron made it clear that the soldiers will only be stationed at places that would be mentioned in the treaty in order to maintain peace with support of USA.
Macron said that the truce could be inked in few weeks but it will not mean surrendering of Ukraine. It may be recalled that Donald Trump, who stated the war could end within weeks, had been insisting Europe to foot the massive bill of a war that could not be won. US President also asked Europe to shoulder burden of any peacekeeping agreement.
Trump’s Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated on 21st Feb that Zelenskyy was going to sign an agreement with White House by means of which USA will get the money (spent on his 3-year-long war with Russia) by acquiring rights to Ukraine’s deposits of rare minerals.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, who was very close to USA under the Biden Administration, has been termed as a dictator without elections by Donald Trump here on 19th Feb 2025.
It is pertinent to mention here that following the Trump-Putin telephonic conversation and the parleys between US and Russian delegations in Riyadh on 18th Feb, Zelensky angered Trump by saying that he was living in a disinformation space.
Zelensky was responding to Trumps statement that Kyiv could have made a deal earlier to end the war, but not Russia. Trump maintained that Ukraine should not receive any more aid without getting anything in return.
Following the 4-hour long rendezvous in Riyadh on 18th February, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio maintained that the meeting was the first step of a long and difficult journey to ending the war in Ukraine. It may be recalled that one of the promises Trump made during his campaign was that he wanted the war in Ukraine.
On the 3rd anniversary of Russia-Ukraine War, Emmanuel Macron met Donald Trump here.
Following the rendezvous Macron told the Media while he and UK PM were trying to figure out a modus operandi apropos sending troops to Ukraine, many of the thirty European leaders and allies he met, were willing to provide Ukraine security guarantees post truce.
