KARACHI: Unidentified armed riders shot dead two private security guards outside a Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) office here today, police said.

The shooting incident took place outside the FBR’s office in the Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, where both guards were posted.

According to a police official, it seems to be a case of targeted killing. It transpired that unqualified sweepers were donned in police-like uniforms and posted at the scene of crime as guards.

The killers wanted to shoot police personnel down. And probably killed the unqualified private ‘guards’ reckoning them as police officers.

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) A.D. Khawaja took notice of the incident and ordered a probe into it.
