KARACHI: Veteran Pakistan batsman Younis Khan has announced that he will be playing career’s last series in West Indies.

“West Indies series will be the last series of my international cricket career,” Younis said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday.

When asked whether he was following Misbah’s decision or he was forced to retire by the cricket board, the batsman said: “Every player has to retire one day. Excellent cricketers bid adieu to the game but the show went on.”

“I will continue to serve Pakistan after my retirement,” Khan said.

Born in Mardan, Khan has represented Pakistan along with other county and club teams including Nottinghamshire, Peshawar Cricket Association, Rajasthan Royals, South Australia, Surrey, Warwickshire, and Yorkshire.

In his test career, Khan played 115 matches and scored 9977 runs with 34 centuries and 32 half-centuries to his name. He has nine test wickets to his name as well.

He is the only cricketer to score a century in every test playing country i.e. Pakistan, West Indies, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, England and Zimbabwe.
