US Congress to give go ahead in 30 days: F-16 sales to Pakistan

 M. M. ALAM

NEW DELHI: US Congress is all poised to finalize the F-16 sales deal with Pakistan within thirty days.

After much deliberation Obama administration has finally decided to sell eight fighter jets to Pakistan along with training, radar and other equipment, worth about $700 million.

US believe that F-16s will assist Pakistan in its war against terror.

Though India has recently ordered 36 expensive French-built Rafale warplanes, it said it was disappointed at the decision of Obama.

It is pertinent to mention here that equipment supplied by Americans to Pakistan had been used by US itself to settle regional scores.
