US delegation’s visit will help revive relations between US and Pakistan: Zardari

KARACHI: Former President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed his hope to revive the stalled relations between the two countries after the recent visit by the US delegation led by Senator John McCain.

According to a statement issued here by Pakistan Peoples Party media cell, former President said that the recent visit would help create a bridge between United States of America and Pakistan and revive the stalled relations between both countries.

“The US delegation’s visit to Pakistan is a good sign for the country. It would benefit both countries [US and Pakistan],” Zardari hailed the visit of the members of the US Congress in the statement.

“They [US] had appreciated the efforts of Pakistan during the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation against terrorists,” he said adding that the rest of the world should also appreciate the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan.

Lauding the visit, PPP Co-Chairman said that the visit will help reduce misunderstanding between the two countries and improve bilateral relations between them.

“Pakistan was one of the worst affected by terrorism, and it was commendable that this was recognised by the US Congress,” Zardari said.

He further said that his party [PPP] makes all efforts at every forum to highlight the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan against terrorism.
