US rejects ‘threat letter’ claim

WASHINGTON: US State Department has rejected PM Imran Khan’s claims that US had written a threatening letter and that it was behind the No-Trust-Motion against him.

“US under Secretary of State did call outgoing Amb DrAsad to deliver a demarche for Pak govt: he told ambassador  as long as PM Imran Khan is PM relations with Pakistan can’t improve & if he goes Pak can be forgiven for its mistakes. Outrageous official communication! All must condemn,” Nasim Zehra Tweeted about the Threatening Letter.

PM Imran Khan, addressing the nation in live telecast Thursday, 31st of March 2022, named US (albeit in slip of tongue) as the country that had sent the threat letter. 

He said that US knew beforehand that the No-Confidence-Resolution was about to be be tabled. According to him US had warned that Pakistan will have to face the consequences if Imran Khan remains the PM even after the voting.

He said that on Sunday 3rd of April, 2022 voting will take place on the No-Confidence-Resolution. He said, whatever the outcome, he would play till the last ball.

The Premier, addressing the dissidents, warned that the nation would not forgive them for voting against PTI. He told them that by means of a foreign conspiracy the dissidents tried to topple a government that had an independent foreign policy.

Imran Khan said that the foreign forces (USA) had developed a liking for Asif Ali Zardari, Shahbaz Sharif and Fazl-ur-Rahman despite knowing about their ill-gotten wealth. He said that they never condemned the 400 drone attacks carried out in ten years.

Calling his opponents stooges he maintained that it was disturbing that they were in contact with foreign forces by means of whom the conspiracy of the No-Confidence-Resolution.

Imran Khan said he joined the politics 25 years ago with three aims and justice was one of them. Other two aims in the PTI manifesto are kindness and self-respect. He said that the main purpose of the creation of Pakistan was to make it an Islamic Welfare State”.

He said that the threat letter was not meant against Pakistan or its Government but against him. He said that the letter warned that if Imran Khan remains the Premier Pakistan would face difficulties.

PM said that no clear reason has been given in the letter by there was insinuation that his meeting Putin (the day when Ukraine was invaded by Russia) was one of the reasons.
