US to vet visa applicants’ Social Media accounts

KARACHI: The US diplomatic posts in Pakistan will be vetting (F,M,J category non-immigrant) visa applicants’ Social Media accounts to gauge their admissibility to America.

Consulate Generals have informed the applicants:

“Effective immediately, all individuals applying for F, M, or J non-immigrant visa are requested to adjust the privacy settings on all of their social media accounts to ‘public’ to facilitate vetting necessary to establish their identity and admissibility to the United States.”
