VC FUUAST on Emergence of Science

KARACHI: Acting Vice Chancellor of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ziauddin said that today’s Chemistry Expo only meant that, we should share different ideas with each other and we should share the ideas of the future technologies so that humanity could benefit from it in the future.

He said this after visiting stalls on the opening ceremony of “Chemistry Expo 2022” organized under the aegis of Chemistry department of FUUAST here.

He said that the educational subjects, whether related to arts or science, these did not come into existence at once, but before that, a very long journey of human history was behind it.

He said that the real society of man was devoid of reason, consciousness and reasoning. Gradually, when humanity developed, sciences came into existence along with it, and especially when pure sciences came into existence, the map of the history of the world was changed.

He said that from the journeys of the ancient caves and the man living in the den of trees to the modern era and the very modern time coming in the future, all the journeys we have made are due to knowledge.

Head of Science department Professor Dr. Muhammad Zahid, Chairman of Chemistry department Professor Dr. Abdul Majeed Khan, Associate Professor and Organizing Secretary Dr. Azizuddin Sheikh, Coordinator Dr. Kausar Yasmin, Dr. Muhammad Ali Versiani, Dr. Urooj Haroon and Dr. Sadaf also addressed.

Professor Dr. Abdul Majeed Khan said 40 Ph.D teachers in the Department of Chemistry are conducting research on various topics along with teaching.

In this mega event, the students presented their innovative ideas.

Keeping in view the innovation of the present era, the Chemistry Expo developed the spirit of research and discovery among the students.

More than 300 students from different schools, colleges and universities of Karachi presented posters and models of their projects in which Hasan Raza of Federal University of Urdu, Arisha Ilyas, Syeda Muniza Ahmed and Laiba Iqbal of DHACSS School won the first position.

At the end of the program, shields were given to the guests while certificates were given to the students.
