ISLAMABAD: PTA has announced on Saturday (16th Nov, 2024) the process of VPN registration had been simplified.
PTA confirmed that software houses, call centres, banks, embassies, and freelancers could register their VPN through the PTA’s official website.
PTA said that members of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) could also take advantage of this streamlined process.
Applicants will have to fill an online form providing detailed about CNIC, Company registration and tax registration status. Freelancers will have to submit proof of their association with a project or company, in the form of a letter or email confirmation.
Applicants will also have to provide an IP address for VPN connectivity. A fixed IP address can be obtained through internet service provider.
This gratis process takes 10 hours or less for approval once the application is submitted. PTA revealed that 20000 companies and freelancers have successfully registered their VPNs through this process.
