WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump, who had warned Iran that USA would obliterate its power plants if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz within forty-eight hours, took to the Truth Social at the end of ultimatum on Monday (23rd March, 2026) to reveal about ongoing talks with Tehran!
Taking to the Social Media Platform he stated: “I AM PLEASED TO REPORT THAT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND THE COUNTRY OF IRAN, HAVE HAD, OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS, VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS REGARDING A COMPLETE AND TOTAL RESOLUTION OF OUR HOSTILITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST. BASED ON THE TENOR AND TONE OF THESE IN DEPTH, DETAILED, AND CONSTRUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS, WHICH WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, I HAVE INSTRUCTED THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR TO POSTPONE ANY AND ALL MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST IRANIAN POWER PLANTS AND ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A FIVE DAY PERIOD, SUBJECT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ONGOING MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS. Thanks to his statement, the price of oil came down and bourse went bullish. But Iran, calling Trump’s statement a fake news, made it clear that no negotiations or discussions with the United States had taken place since 28th February, when the war commenced.
In response to US President Donald Trump’s threat apropos closure of Strait of Hormuz during the ongoing war, Iran has warned USA it would irreversibly destroy US-linked energy sites across the Middle East if its power plants were targeted. It may be recalled that Trump had warned Iran that USA would obliterate its power plants if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz within forty-eight hours. While Israel lobbed missiles overnight, Irani direct hits killed 5 and injured one-hundred and fifty Israelis in the town of Dimona, that is situated thirteen km away from a nuclear plant. KSA claimed it had intercepted 10 drones this morning. Whereas, Iran maintaining that it had not lobbed the said drones towards Saudi Arabia, asked the Kingdom to probe the matter.
