ISLAMABAD: As the specter of Panamagate refuses to vanish, a new stage is set for a clash of titans: The institutions of Parliament and Judiciary!

Though it is not clear whether the SC has received the reference or not yet, today Speaker of National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq has filed a complaint (in the Supreme Judicial Council) under Constitution’s Article 209 against Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa for delivering April 20 verdict in which the Justice has questioned his ruling in favor of former PM.

The complaint held:  “Unfortunately Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa in his judgment has attributed the failure on the part of the Honorable Speaker to inquire into or investigate the matter or to refer the matter to the Election Commission of Pakistan”.

It has been stated in the said reference that continuation in office of Justice Khosa will give him opportunity to write such “biased, ill-founded and disputed judgments”.

It has further been said that elevation of Justice Khosa as Chief Justice would further encourage him to ” flout the norms of decency, justice and propriety with impunity and in contempt of the supreme laws of the land”.
