ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Fawad Hussain Chaudhry has said that the PTI government respects the court verdicts, but the Sindh CM must resign as he is ‘no more capable’ of holding the post after his name appeared in a JIT report over fake bank accounts.
“We respect Supreme Court and honorable Chief Justice’s verdict regarding PPP, its Co-chairman and Sindh Chief Minister. However, the Sindh government is under pressure by its own MPAs to sack Murad Ali Shah,” Chaudhry said while addressing a news conference here.
His news conference came soon after Chief Justice drubbed him over his statement in which he demanded CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah to step down after his name was put on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Taking jibe at PPP Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the minister said how Bilawal can topple the PTI government when even his father [Asif Ali Zardari] had failed to achieve that in past.
“He [Bilawal] should not forget that even his father did not achieve any success against PTI government in past. They [PPP] are living in fool’s paradise,” he maintained.
Fawad Chaudhry further went on to say that Zardari and Omni Group were on NAB’s radar since 2016. The fake accounts case was not brought up by the PTI government.
He said that the government will struck off names of Zardari and other Sindh leaders if recommended by NAB and FIA.
