Women’s T20 Asia Cup: Mithali Raj’s 73 not out led Indian team to victory stand as Green shirts take a backseat!

SANA MAHMOOD

BANGKOK: Green shirts were forced to take a backseat when Indian women’s cricket team’s score of 121/5 proved too much for them in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup held here on Sunday (Dec. 4th).

Pakistani team found it difficult right from the commencement of their innings to face the bowling of Jhulan Goswami, Ekta Bisht and Preeti Bose. While Mithali Raj remained unbeaten after scoring 73, Pakistani Captain Bismah Maroof only managed to score 25 and that was the highest on Green side.

As a result Indian team defeated Pakistan by 17 runs to claim the Women’s 20 Asia Cup.

It is pertinent to mention here that  Pak team had earlier beaten Thailand by 5 wickets to quality for the final.
