ISLAMABAD: In his official Facebook post Prime Minister Imran Khan has stated that Pakistan was all set to open its doors for Sikhs from across the globe. Construction work on Kartarpur project entered final stages and would be open to public on 9th of next month.
Prime Minister said world’s largest Gurdwara would be visited by Sikhs from across India and other parts of the world and would become a major religious hub for the Sikh Community and will boost the local economy. Imran Khan went on to hold that would also result in earning of foreign exchange for the country besides creating jobs in different sectors, including travel and hospitality.

MULTAN: Addressing a Presser here today Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has reiterated that Pakistan would fulfill its commitment to open Kartarpur corridor.
He further confirmed that Pakistan would welcome former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh if he visits Kartarpur. FM maintained that Prime Minister Imran Khan had internationalized Kashmir dispute and unmasked India’s real face. Shah Mehmood Qureshi has noted that voices within India were raising questions over grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
Responding to a query apropos Afghanistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that PM Imran Khan’s vision about Afghan peace was clear: he desired success in Afghan peace process. Focusing on the Saudi-Iran conflict Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan that had brotherly and profound relations with both the countries, was against any conflict in the region and it would play its constructive role to resolve the issues between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Ex-Indian PM Manmohan Singh to visit Kartarpur Corridor in November
NEW DELHI: Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Kartarpur corridor next month (November).
According to Indian media, Singh will visit the Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara, the resting place of Baba Guru Nanak, on the invitation of Punjab minister.
Earlier, the Pakistan government had extended an invitation to former Indian premier for the inauguration of Kartarpur corridor that is scheduled to be held on November 9.
“We would like to extend an invitation to former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the inauguration function of Kartarpur Corridor. He also represents the Sikh community. We will also send him a formal invitation,” Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said while addressing a ceremony.
Pakistan committed to open Kartarpur corridor in November : Zulfi Bukhari
NEW YORK: Pakistan is committed to open Kartarpur corridor for the Sikh pilgrims, who intend to participate in the celebrations, marking the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in November, said Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari, a senior aide to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Bukhari, during a meeting with members of the Pakistani and Sikh communities in Queens, New York, asserted that the project would be completed under all circumstances.
The meeting was arranged by the Overseas Pakistanis Global Foundation, a non-governmental organization, devoted to protecting the rights of overseas Pakistanis.
Pakistan to allow 5,000 Sikh pilgrims to visit Kartarpur Sahib this year: FO
Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal has said that Pakistan will allow 5,000 Sikh pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur this year.
In a declaration, Dr. Muhammad Faisal said that the government would allow additional Sikh pilgrims to visit religious sites to perform their rituals on special occasion.
Kartarpur Corridor: 3rd round of Indo-Pak talks held in positive milieu
Dr. Faisal, who led the Pakistani delegation to Attari for the 3rd round of Indo-Pak talks today on Kartarpur corridor, termed the environment of the rendezvous as positive, despite the Kashmir Issue.
FO Spokesman told that India and Pakistan had agreed to the draft agreement on the operationalization of Kartarpur Corridor except on a couple of points.
Dr. Faisal said he was confident that two countries were inching closer to the opening of Kartarpur Corridor by the month of November. Foreign Secretary reiterated that obstacles had been overcome and the Indian side would have to show political flexibility to address the remaining issues.
He disclosed that Pakistan had invited the Indian side for the final meeting on its side of the border to remove the remaining hurdles.
Hoping for an expedited progress in this round of talks to finalize the agreement on Kartarpur, Dr. Faisal stated: “Pakistan is committed to open the Kartarpur Corridor on the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.”
It is pertinent to mention here that 90% work on the corridor has been complete by Pakistan.
