Wuhan has now zero COVID-19 cases in hospitals: official

BEIJING: A health official in the Chinese ministry has claimed that each and every single COVID-19 patient has been discharged from the hospitals in Wuhan and there were no more virus affectees.

Wuhan, the city which is said to be the epicenter of the global pandemic, is now coronavirus-free and all the remaining cases have been recovered and discharged from the hospitals, said the official.

“The latest news is that by April 26, the number of new coronavirus patients in Wuhan was at zero, thanks to the joint efforts of Wuhan and medical staff from around the country,” National Health Commission spokesman Mi Feng said at a briefing.

Envoy Yao Jing while informing that situation in Wuhan (where the virus reportedly originated) is improving fast with life returning to normalcy has stated that visiting Chinese doctors were replicating the same modus operandi in Pakistan.

Speaking at a ceremony here today H. E. Yao Jing stated  that medical team from his country is sharing their knowledge and expertise with their Pakistani counterparts to deal with the threat of coronavirus, H.E. expressed hope that Pakistan will soon contain the menace of Coronavirus.

H. E. reiterating the profound friendship between the two countries held that Pakistan was first priority to assist in coming out of this crisis.

Earlier, a team of eight Chinese doctors arrived here in order to help the local administration contain the menace Coronavirus.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who was at the airport to receive the doctors thanked the Chinese government for sending the team.

He said that Pakistani health workers will benefit from the experience of Chinese doctors. He reiterated that China had always supported Pakistan at difficult times and two countries stood side by side.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed that the number of ventilators were being increased in the country. He also told that measures were being taken to increase the number of coronavirus tests.
