Young Doctors Association still on strike for the 2nd day

KARACHI: Young Doctors Association (YDA) has continued strike on the second day against non-payment of salaries among other demands while more than 5,000 patients have been denied treatment until now.

Out Patient Departments (OPD) are shut for the second day causing issues for the patients. The doctors have warned the administration of closure of emergency facilities and operation theatres if demands are not met.

One of the several demands of the protesters is immediate provision of pending allowances and salaries.

Despite of the assurances of the government nothing has been done to meet demands of the protesters.

Patients coming from far flung areas had to face severe difficulties on Friday due to the OPDs boycott however, the emergency department of the hospital was open.

The protesters have stressed that the Sindh government should implement the payment of salaries and allowances, otherwise the protest will be expanded.
