Zainab’s killer at large: 1,100 people questioned, 600 DNA samples obtained!

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan, on learning that the same serial killer was involved behind atleast eight rape/murders of children in Kasur, held that clumsy investigation allowed culprits evade the noose.

CJP, who was heading a 3-member bench hearing the suo moto asked the AIG Punjab about Police’s investigation vis-à-vis Zainab’s rape/murder case.

AIG informed that so far, 1,100 suspects have been interrogated and DNA tests of 600 people have been conducted. However, the culprit is still at large.

LHC has been stopped by SC from hearing the suo motto case as it lacks jurisdiction to hear suo motto cases.

(Probably, while insinuating at possible extra-judicial killing of the serial killer) CJ said that he wanted the culprit to be captured not shot dead in a Police encounter

SC has summoned the investigation team (including the forensic experts) at the next hearing scheduled to be held on Sunday 21st of January at Lahore Registry.
