Zardari criticises Khawaja Saad Rafique’s arrest

ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Peoples Party (Parliamentarians) Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday criticized the arrest of PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Salman Rafique.
In a statement issued here, Asif Zardari alleged that the government was being exposed by the arrest of political leaders, a press release said.
Asif Zardari claimed that no government could strengthen by arresting its opponents. Spokesman of Asif Zardari, Amir Fida Paracha said the PPP desired that every government should complete its tenure, which was imperative for strengthening the parliamentary system. He alleged that the current government did not want to strengthen the parliament.
He was of the opinion that political victimization would not weaken the political leaders and parties. He claimed the country was passing through an economic crisis and masses were perturbed due to inflation and unemployment.  The government was busy in political victimization of the leaders to divert the attention of the people, he alleged.
