KARACHI: At least 12 people have drowned at Karachi’s Hawkesbay Beach today: “So far 10 bodies have been recovered while divers are still looking for two more,” Edhi Welfare personnel informed.
Sources privy to Newspakistan.tv while providing details told that all deceased belonged to two families based in Nazimabad.
Members of the said families converged at Sandpit for picnicking. Despite the so-called-ban on swimming few children jumped into the water and got stuck in a whirlwind.
As other members of the family tried to rescue the kid(s) they too were sucked in by the death lurking beneath the surface of the blues.
Among those who lost their lives in today’s tragic incident include two brothers, a man, his daughter and a teenage son.
Last month, son of Saudi Vice-Consul General, along with two other Saudi nationals, drowned near Neelum point at Hawkesbay Beach.
