KABUL: Afghan Supreme Court proclaimed that Talibaan regime has publicly executed four, convicted of murder, in the football stadiums of three provinces on Friday (11th April, 2025).
Supreme Court of Afghanistan informed that a murder convict was executed in Zaranj situated in Nimroz Province; another was killed in Farah city of Farah Province; 3rd and 4th convicts were gunned down at Qala-e-Naw area of Badghis province by the victim’s relatives. Deciphering the modus operandi Supreme Court of Afghanistan stated that the murder convicts had been sentenced to retaliatory punishment. A day earlier, citoyens were encouraged to witness the executions, by means of official notices.
Since 2021 ten convicts have been executed publicly. It may be recalled that during their 1996-2001 tenure, Taliban had regularly executed convicts in stadiums, inviting public to witness. According to the Islamic laws members of the victims’ families can forgive the murderers after taking blood money (khuun baha) or without it. In these aforementioned four cases the victims’ families refused to pardon the murderers. Moreover, Supreme Court asserted that the cases were precisely examined for a number of times.
