MOSCOW: Russia, that has proclaimed Taliban as a non-terrorist group few days ago, has said on Wednesday (23rd April, 2025) that the diplomatic mission of Kabul will be upgraded to the level of ambassador.
Moscow stated: “The representatives of the Afghan leadership were informed that, following the decision announced by the Supreme Court of Russia to suspend the ban on the Taliban movement, the Russian side has decided to upgrade the diplomatic mission of Afghanistan in Moscow to the level of ambassador.” It is pertinent to mention here that since USA left Afghanistan, Russia had been attempting to ameliorate its terms with Taliban whose officials had been attending events held in Russia.
