BRIAN LARA STADIUM (TAROUBA): Green Shirts won the first ODI (of 3-match series) against WI by five wickets here on Saturday (9th August, 2025).
Pakistan, after winning the toss opted to field first. Later, successfully chased the target of 281 runs (all out scoring 280 runs in 49 overs) set by WI in 48.5 overs. West Indies managed to muster 280 runs up with the help of fifties scored by Evin Lewis, Skipper Shai Hope, and Roston Chase.
From Pakistan side Mohammad Rizwan scored 53. Later (player of the match) Hasan Nawaz (63 off 54 balls with three sixes and 5 fours) and Hussain Talat (41 off 37 balls with a six and 4 fours) helped Green Shirts win the match by forming a 6th sixth-wicket partnership of 104 not out.
The grand finalé: Hasan Nawaz hit a sixer in the 49th over giving the Green Shirts the victory.
