MALAKAND: JUI-F Chief here Mufti Kiharatullah got injured while two others (including his daughter) was killed when unidentified gunmen attacked his house Saturday (16th August, 2025).
KP Police stated: “Today, around 1pm, JUI Malakand district emir Mufti Kifayatullah, along with his two daughters, was shot within the limits of Chowki Batkhela, Levies Post Batkhela area.” On 14th March this year, an IED, that was planted in the minbar of the mosque was detonated at 1:45 pm during namaz-e-juma, gravely injuring the district head of JUI-F Maulana Abdullah Nadeem.
Three other JUI-F members (Rehmanullah, Mullah Noor & Shah Behran), sustained superficial wounds. Injured were provided medical treatment. It is pertinent to mention here that JUI-F head of the region Maulana Abdullah Nadeem was targeted last year too and unknown militants had been threatening him since then.
Unidentified militants detonated an IED and opened fire at a police vehicle near Shakai Stand in Wana Bazar here on 7th August, killing three passersby and injuring 20 others (including cops). Attacks on LEA personnel and politicians is quite common in this region. For instance, an IED blast, carried out by unknown militants at Peace Committee Office (completely destroyed it) on 28th April, claimed seven lives and left 29 wounded, who were treated at Wana’s District Headquarters Hospital.
On 14th March, JUI-F Chief Fazl-ur-Rehman, while commenting on the IED blast at Maulana Abdul Aziz Mosque on Warsak Bypass here lamented that its sanctity had been violated during Ramazan. According to details the IED, that was planted in the minbar of the mosque was detonated at 1:45 pm during namaz-e-juma, gravely injuring the district head of JUI-F Maulana Abdullah Nadeem. Three other JUI-F members (Rehmanullah, Mullah Noor & Shah Behran), sustained superficial wounds.

Terrorists including a high-value target identified as Rehmat Ullah alias Badar Mansur and Amjad alias Babri were killed in an IBO conducted by the security forces in Tank District. After an intense fire exchange, seven terrorists were neutralized.
