Bagram: Trump warns Afghans of Bad Things

WHITE HOUSE: Trump, who wants to retake the Bagram Airbase from Afghan Taliban, took to the Truth Social Platform to warn: “If Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to those that built it, the United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN!!!”

Talking to reporters here Saturday (20th Sept, 2025) the 79 year old leader said: “We’re talking now to Afghanistan and we want it back and we want it back soon, right away. And if they don’t do it — if they don’t do it, you’re going to find out what I’m gonna do.”

It may be recalled that Trump has floated the idea of taking back Bagram Air Base from Taliban, during his recent visit to UK. Savants at the helm of affairs are of the view that operating and protecting the base (once acquired) will require a large number of troops.

Responding to the Trump’s proposal Afghan Defense Ministry said: “Recently, some people have said that they have entered negotiations with Afghanistan for taking back Bagram air base…A deal over even an inch of Afghanistan’s soil is not possible. We don’t need it.”

BAGRAM AIR BASE: Chinese and Irani diplomats, alongside a sizeable crowd (sans women) witnessed the military parade here commemorating the completion of three years of Taliban rule over Afghanistan. Soviet-era pieces of artillery and tanks were towed through the Bagram Air Base from where US led operations against Taliban for twenty years.
