GWADAR: NDMA on Thursday (29th Feb, 2024) claimed that 60% dewatering of floodwater here had been completed.
According to NDMA so far 250 houses were damaged and their occupants had been shifted to rescue centers.
Those 21 individuals who got injured due to collapsing walls and other flood-related accidents are being provided treatment at medical facilities.
NDMA further informed that 200,000 water purification tabs were distributed in Gwadar and Turbat by Balochistan’s Health Department.
Since another spell of rain is expected in the southern region of Balochistan from Thursday night the rescue efforts could be hampered.
NDMA stated that it was keenly keeping an eye on the state of affairs and was ensuring coordination of rescue efforts between departments at provincial and national levels.
