Panama Papers case: Hassan Nawaz appears before JIT

ISLAMABAD: Hassan Nawaz, the younger son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, appeared today before a joint investigation team (JIT) probing into the Panamagate case.

The JIT had called Hassan on Wednesday. However, he made a request to allow him to appear today for investigation.

Hassan was supposed to submit all the required documents to the JIT regarding offshore assets of the Sharif family.

Hussain Nawaz complains of victimisation

Earlier on May 30, the JIT grilled the prime minister’s son Hussain Nawaz for almost three hours as part of the investigation to establish the money trail for the purchase of luxury flats in an upscale neighbourhood of London.

Talking to the media after the inquiry, Hussain claimed the ongoing probe against him and his family was the latest example of a tradition of political victimisation that began during the tenure of Pakistan’s fifth premier.
