Azadi March: Fazl not to talk to Govt due to PPP reservations

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F)’s President Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, responding to Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P)’s reservations, has cancelled the talks that was scheduled to take place Sunday (20th of October, 2019) evening.

Moreover, addressing a presser Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that the Government Committee had threatened the opposition parties who thus would not talk to them.

PPP-P, terming JUI-F’s decision as a solo-flight of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman expressed its reservations about the now-cancelled talks. PPP noted that Government was not serious about the talks and announced that their Rehbar Committee would decide whether to negotiate with the Government or not.

Earlier on Saturday (19th of October, 2019) during a multiparty huddle with Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman in the chair at the JUI-F provincial secretariat in Peshawar, PML-N, PPP-P and ANP had decided to join the JUI-F’s 27th Oct Azadi March in Islamabad. Qaumi Watan Party, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and other political groups also attended the meeting.

Azadi March: Sadiq Sanjrani talks to JUI-F’s Ghafoor Haideri over phone

ISLAMABAD: The Government has today succeeded in making the first contact with JUI-F when  Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani telephoned Secretary General of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.

According to details PTI-government, that has been attempting to negotiate with the instigators of Azadi Marchers, managed to arrange a rendezvous with Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri on Sunday evening in order to find an amicable way out of the present dilemma.

The Government’s seven-member committee – spearheaded by Defense Minister Pervez Khattak – consists of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Asad Umar, Shafqat Mehmood, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, and Speaker of Punjab Assembly Pervez Elahi.

Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has sated that he would convey his leadership about the details of the meeting with Government’s Committee.

Earlier Defense Minister Pervez Khattak – who had been given the task by PTI-Government  to bring opposition to the negotiating table – held: “We are requesting the opposition parties to come and talk. Because if you have any issues then you should talk. This is a democracy.”

But at the same time, according to Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman (President Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl), the Prime Minister has been bad-mouthing against the opposition leaders insinuating that the government too does not mean parleys itself.

It is pertinent to mention here that the opposition parties have been demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan before coming to the negotiating table. But, rejecting any possibility of a resignation from Prime Minister Imran Khan, Defense Minister maintained that stubborn behavior would lead to lawlessness: “If you don’t sit with us and talk, then we would have fulfilled our responsibility. Whatever happens afterwards will be on you,” he held.

Justifying the present Prime Minister Imran Khan’s march in 2014 Khattak stated: “When all options were exhausted, only then did Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was the party leader, decide to march on Islamabad…PTI didn’t just come out without a rhyme or reason. We had an issue i.e.: election rigging and a list of demands.”

Azadi March: PTI Govt. bans JUI-F’s sub. group Ansar-ul-Islam

ISLAMABAD: The danda-bardar (stick-holders) group of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) called Ansar-ul-Islam has been banned by the Government of Pakistan perceptibly as an attempt to contain the Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s orchestrated Azadi March.

Will PTI Govt. call in Army to contain the Azadi Marchers?

ISLAMABAD: Following Imran Khan’s DIESEL remark Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman and his Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) seem to be unstoppable.

According to details JUI-F and major political parties ( PML-N, PPP, ANP and PkMAP)   are determined to converge at the Capital on 31st of October, 2019 to stage a sit-in to force the government go home.

Although PTI-Government has formed a committee to negotiate with Maulana, Prime Minister Imran Khan irked the opposition by saying that he knew for the first time Parliament was operating sans DIESEL. It is insinuated that in case the talks fail PTI-Government will call Army in.

Meanwhile, a list of over thirty prominent JUI-F leaders have been made who would be arrested in order to deprive the marchers of leadership.

It is pertinent to mention here that during 2014 dharna (sit-in) [staged by current Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri’s Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan] too Army was called in.

Azadi March: Govt set to use 550 containers to seal the Capital

ISLAMABAD: According to sources privy to Newspakistan.tv zonal superintendents of Police here have demanded 550 containers (costing the exchequer Rs. 5000 per container per day) in order to prevent Azadi Marchers  from entering the Capital.

It is likely that  connecting roads of Rawalpindi to I.J. Principal Road, Red Zone, Ayub Chowk, Aga Khan Road, Secretariat Chowk France Chowk, Radio Pakistan Chowk, Serena Chowk and Convention Centre will be sealed on 31st of October (2019) by using containers.

According to sources 250 containers have been demanded by the City Zone, the remaining three zones have asked vendor to provide one hundred containers for each zone.

SHOs of concerned Police Stations have warned the businesses (including catering services, tent services, hotels, motels, guest-houses/inns, generators, crane owners, excavators, welders etc.) here that legal action would be taken against them if they do business with the organizers or participants of the Azadi March.

NPTV has been informed that in order to halt the Azadi Marchers Police have been equipped with two hundred teargas launchers and 13,000 shells, one thousand gas masks and riot jackets etc. Moreover, it has further been insinuated that PTI-Government might call Army in to stop the Azadi Marchers.
