BAHAWALPUR: While Police has apprehended 3 officials of Bahawalpur Islamia University (BIU) on narcotics charges, sources have further revealed that a group of teachers were also running a racket involving sales of drugs/aphrodisiacs to students and exploiting female pupils and their instructors.
According to details following registration of a case U/S 9(2)1 of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997 Police has commenced its probe against IUB Security Chief Major (Retired) Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah, transport incharge and treasurer (for possessing crystal meth, aphrodisiacs and obscene footages/images of IUB pupils and staff).
Meanwhile IUB has also formed a committee (comprising Director Public Instruction Colleges South Punjab Dr Fareed Shareef, Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Amjad, Institute of Physics Director Prof Dr Saeed Buzdar and Additional Registrar Bilal Arshad) to conduct a comprehensive inquiry.
