Afridi, Akmal, Shahzad ‘out’ of the fitness camp squad for England tour

LAHORE: Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shahzad, and Umar Akmal have been dropped as selection committee announced the squad for England tour.

Chief Selector Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Inzamam-ul-Haq announced 35 names for the squad in a press conference here at Lahore on Monday.

Haq said that Afridi, Akmal, and Shahzad were dropped over discipline and are unlikely to become part of the England squad.

“The players were dropped for lacking the discipline. Selection Committee is totally independent and it has every right to decide about the squad,” Inzamam said.

The training camp will be held from May 14 to June 4 in Kakul, Abbottabad.
