DAMASCUS: Israel has bombed the multistorey batiment of Irani diplomatic mission here on Monday (1st April, 2024) killing 8 people including Brigadier General Muhammad Reza Zahedi, Senior Commander of Iran Revolutionary Guard.
Pakistan:
“We call on the UN Security Council to prevent Israel from its adventurism in the region and its illegal acts attacking its neighbors and targeting foreign diplomatic facilities,” FO stated.
KSA:
Saudi Arabia stressed that targeting of diplomatic facilities for any justification, and under any pretext is a violation of international diplomatic laws and the rules of diplomatic immunity.
China:
Condemning the Israeli Missile attack on Irani diplomatic mission in Damascus, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin held: “The security of diplomatic institutions cannot be violated, and Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity should be respected.”
Iran:
President Ebrahim Raisi commenting on the the Israeli attack warned that Iran would retaliate (intelligently, in due time): “Having failed to destroy the will of the resistance front, the Zionist regime (Israel) has put blind assassinations back on its agenda to save itself.
“It must know that it will never achieve its goals and that this cowardly crime will not go unanswered.”
EU:
Taking to the X (Twitter) Chief of EU Josep Borrel held: “I condemn the attack and urge an investigation. Despite all the demands to protect civilians and humanitarian workers, we see new innocent casualties.”
