KARACHI: After the protest by students and their paretnts a retake of Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) has been scheduled to be held on 8th of December.
This was proclaimed here by Sindh Health Department Wednesday (20th Nov 2024). It may be recalled that SHC bench on 26th of October had ordered the authorities to retake the MDCAT within four weeks.
An enquiry committee had unanimously concluded that the entire test procedure, given on 22nd September was compromised.
The court had also asked the Sindh government to meet all expenditures required to retake MDCAT and to hire the services of IBA Karachi/IBA Sukkur for the purpose.
It may be recalled that on 1st of Oct, 2024 FIA (Cyber Crime Circle), investigating the leakage of Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) questionnaire, summoned those 150 students who had scored 190 out of 200 marks in the recently held exams.
Those 96 students who appeared before the concerned officials (along with their parents) revealed the phone numbers of the sellers of guess papers. It seams that not all the students bought the papers, many got the same by means of WhatsApp forwarded by those who paid for them.
