ISLAMABAD: Following his official 3-day sojourn here Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko left for home on Wednesday (27th Nov, 2024).
Ahead of President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s formal visit a 68-member ministerial delegation led by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov arrived here on Sunday (24th Nov) evening. Delegation of entrepreneurs signed 15 agreements and MoUs (including the Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation for the period 2025-2027) that would contribute enormously towards ameliorating the ties between Pakistan and Belarus.
The visit comes after Pakistan and Belarus in September agreed in principle to sign a MoU to establish a trade roadmap. PM Shehbaz Sharif on 31st May, 2023 said Pakistan greatly valued its cordial and broad-based relations with Belarus. He also affirmed Pakistan’s commitment towards building mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus in all areas, including economic, agriculture, science and technology, information technology, education, and culture domains.
