KARACHI: FBR has launched the Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA) System here on Sunday (14th Dec 2024).
Talking to journalists at a Presser held at Customs House Jamil Nasir, Chief Collector Customs Appraisement, proclaimed that import goods declarations filed after midnight in the Appraisement Collectorates at the Metropolis shall be allocated for assessment to the Central Appraising Unit (CAU).
Appraisement Collectorates established at South Asia Pakistan Terminal, Karachi in terms of CGO No.6 of 2024 issued by FBR recently.
According to FBR the FCA System would facilitate trade by reducing the clearance time and induce efficiency and transparency in assessments.
Jamil Nasir. maintaining that the system aimed to augment transparency in customs clearance by providing accurate and timely information, held that the system included a mechanism to give positive points/rewards to efficient officers and negative points/penalties to those who fail to produce results.
Following completion of the first phase at the Port City the system would be introduced at the upcountry dry-ports and border stations.
