KARACHI: National Academy of Performing Arts’ Zia Mohyeddin Theatre was the venue where music aficionados converged to listen to Musica Senza Confini – a performance by Italian singer Silvia Boreale – organised jointly by the Italian diplomatic mission here and the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA).
Silvia opened her performance with National Anthem of Italy as illustrated Ustaad Nafees Ahmed played Sitar. That was followed by Pakistani National Anthem and patriotic song Sohni Dharti. Silvia went on to enthral the packed audience with her hit originals. (The then) CG Anna Ruffino surprised the ladies and gentlemen in the audience by playing a piece of Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi.
Speaking exclusively to Newspakistan.tv on the occasion Silvia Boreale said: “I’m very happy to perform here for the first time at NAPA with these young musicians. And I hope that this is going to be a very interesting performance for me. And I hope it goes very well. This is the 2nd time I’m here in Pakistan and I really love this country that’s why I decided to come back.
“I am going to sing some popular songs because I just want to introduce a little bit of Italy to Pakistan. I really would like to say that Pakistani people are really warm-hearted and the kind of welcome that I got from them and the feedback and the feeling…that’s the reason I’m here again. And that’s why I wanted to come back to Pakistan and I hope that this journey will continue.”
