Court suspends ban on 27 Youtube channels

ISLAMABAD: Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka has suspended on Friday (11th July, 2025) Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah’s earlier order banning 27 YouTube channels in Pakistan.

It may be recalled that Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah, ruling on a plea filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), had ordered on 8th July here to block 27 YouTube channels involved in disseminating “fake and misleading information against state institutions”.

According to details, NCCIA had filed a petition accusing those 27 YouTube Channels of spreading fake contents. Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah, noting that NCCIA’s evidence was satisfactory, ruled that the issue merited legal action.

Interestingly, most of the banned channels are owned by PTI supporters. Conspicuous among others there were, Moeed Pirzada, Asad Ali Toor, Ahmed Noorani, Matiullah Jan, Imran Riaz Khan, Sabir Shakir, and Aftab Iqbal.
