MUZAFFARABAD: Dr. Tariq Fazal Ch., Pakistani Federal Government’s Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, took to the X on Friday (3rd October, 2025) to inform that the second round of talks with the representatives of the Joint Action Committee Azad Jammu and Kashmir has commenced here.

“The second round of talks between our negotiating team … and the representatives of the Joint Action Committee Azad Jammu and Kashmir has now begun in Muzaffarabad. We fully support the rights of the citizens of Kashmir. Most of their demands, which are in the public interest, have already been accepted. The remaining few, which require constitutional amendments, are under discussion…We believe that violence is not the solution to any problem. We hope that the Action Committee will resolve all issues through peaceful dialogue. Long live Azad Kashmir. Long live Pakistan”, Dr. Tariq Fazal Ch posted.

Violent protests consumed lives of three cops and six civilians, when talks between Pakistan’s Government and the Joint Action Committee (JAAC) of Kashmir over elite privileges and reserved seats for refugees failed last week.

The slain cops were later identified as Bagh’s Constables Khurshi and Jameel. Constable Tahir Rafi from Muzaffarabad Kashmir was the third cop that was killed during the violent and deadly clashes. According to details, till Wednesday (1st October, 2025), one hundred and seventy-two police officers were injured (twelve, being treated, are reportedly in critical condition) while fifty civilians were wounded.

When Pakistan Govt attempted, on Thursday (2nd Oct, 2025) night, to diffuse the situation in Kashmir by sending here a delegation (comprising, among others, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Amir Muqam and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf) the JAAC of Kashmir (represented by Amjad Ali Khan, Shoukat Nawaz Mir, and Anjum Zaman Awan) demanded restoration of mobile & internet services before any parleys.
