ACE East Zone raids office of Mukhtiarkar Gulzar-e-Hijri

KARACHI: ACE East Zone, Malir Circle has raided the office of Mukhtiarkar Gulzar-e-Hijri under the supervision of magistrate,  and seized record concerning fraud committed through forged and inserted entries in Deh Songal apropos a tract of land measuring 56 Acres 

The raiding team took two officials in custody for interrogation regarding the said fraud of land  titled in the name of Gulshan-e-Mustafa and another grabber in Scheme-33 in the garb of entry and so-called claim.

According to sources the alleged forgery was committed by inserting fake entry concerning land ad-measuring 19 Acres in NaClass No.1, Deh Songal, Malir. The entry was kept and further cycled by the then Mukhtiarkars (Abdul Latif Brohi, Maqbool Memon), and was illegally restored after cancellation by Saqib Soomro, the then Member Land Utilization.

On ground the beneficiaries and Directors of Messrs. Masson Construction having launched illegal project in the name of Gulshan-e-Mustafa. On ground state land, so grabbed by beneficiary, is approximately 32 acres. Besides, an area of state land ad-measuring 24 acres has been titled in the name of one dummy individual in the garb of fake claim.

Allegedly in lieu of his claim, he got land in sector 24/A & 27/A of scheme 33, facilitated by the then Mukhtiarkar and the then Member RS & SP, who had no authority to issue such order as it was competence of Member Land Utilization only.

Consequently, 56 acres land and structures built illegally over it had been sealed and record seized by ACE.

NAB to get land fraud complaints verified

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi Director General Brig (Retd.) Farooq Naser Awan on Thursday sent a number of complaints about land-related frauds for the Complaint Verification (CV).

The complaints were submitted by citizens during an open court (Khuli Kachehri) held here at the NAB office. A large number of complainants submitted their applications regarding land frauds committed by government officials in connivance with private persons. A number of complainants also lodged complaints against Cooperative Societies Management.

The complaints were forwarded for verification against various departments, builders and local government entities for initiation of prompt actions as per National Accountability Ordinance 1999. The complaints which do not come under the ambit of NAB were transferred to concerned departments with the directions to resolve the grievances according to law.

The DG NAB appreciated the overwhelming response of the general public. Open courts will also be conducted every last Thursday of each month at NAB office.
