ISLAMABAD: FO here on Sunday (21st July, 2024) condemned the attack at Pakistani diplomatic mission in Frankfurt by Afghan during which the mob succeeded in pulling the Flag of Pakistan down from the mast.

Criticizing German authorities for their failure to protect the premises of its consular mission the FO stated that the attackers also resorted to pelt stones at the Consulate General Batiment: “In yesterday’s incident, the security of Pakistan’s consulate in Frankfurt was breached, endangering the lives of its consular staff.”

“…under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963 it is the responsibility of the host government to protect the sanctity of the consular premises and ensure the security of diplomats.“
