KARACHI: PIA has informed that its domestic flight (No. PK-306), that originated (duly equipped with 6 wheels) from Karachi, landed smoothly at Lahore Airport sans one rare wheel on Wednesday (12th March, 2025).
Attempting to decipher the mid-air enigma spokesman of the National Flag Carrier held: “Passengers disembarked as per regular routine.
“However, on the walk-around inspection by the flight Captain, it was revealed that one out of the six-wheel assemblies on the main landing gear (rear) is missing.
“As per the standard flight practices the matter was taken up by PIA flight safety and AAIB teams who are in the process of investigating the matter and submitting their report.”
Later, the wheel shop technicians informed that the detached wheel was lying near the landing gear of a grounded Boeing 777 parked at a remote bay close to Karachi Airport’s I. I. Chundrigar Hangar.
