AFK features Franco-Pak Photo Expo

KARACHI: Alliance Française (French Cultural Center – AFK) here was the venue where two celebrated photographers [Jean-Marc Loos Prix Varenne (France), & Rahmatullah Khan Tamgha-e- Imtiaz (Pakistan)] exposed their chef-d’oeuvres featuring sports and cultural heritage.

Jean-Marc Loos is an award-winning sports photographer with over 30 years of experience. His powerful imagery was captured defining moments in sports history, earning him accolades like Prix Varenne 2024 for breathtaking shots from the Paris 2024 Olympics. Professor Rahmatullah Khan is a pioneer in photography edification in Pakistan.

In 2006 AFK had introduced an internationally recognised 1-year diploma in photography for the first time in Pakistan designed by Rahmatullah Khan, shaping the next generation of photographers. Govt had bestowed Tamgha e Imtiaz upon him for his works (in Photojournalism, Media Arts, TV Production, Archaeology, Culture & Heritage.)

Consul General Alexis Chahtahtinsky, speaking on the occasion, said that he was glad to be able to hold a dual (Franco-Pak) exposition of photographs at the art gallery of Alliance Française de Karachi (French Cultural Center – AFK). He said that besides promoting art and culture of France, AFK wanted to provide an open space for talented Pakistani artists.
