KARACHI: Killers of famous artist Ismail Gulgee, his wife Zareen and their maid Ayesha, have been handed over life imprisonment by a District and Sessions Court here today.
The three were killed on 19th of December, 2007 in their house near BBQ-Tonight Clifton by Gulgee’s driver Akram Ali and house servant Muhammad Anwar.
Both were also handed over two concurrent sentences of seven years rigorous imprisonment.
Sources privy to NewsPakistan.TV have informed that Zareen used to sell Gulgee’s paintings from their house and most probably the killers were after the money.
However, another source insinuated that the couple used to pay a very meagre salary and treat their servants very harshly and the murders were a reaction to this behavior.
