RAWALPINDI: Many top PTI leaders, including Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub and former provincial law minister Raja Basharat, who were taken into custody on Thursday (5th Dec, 2024), have been granted post-arrest bail by ATC here on Friday.
A day earlier an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Amjad Ali Shah had indicted PTI chief and former PM Imran Khan in the last year’s 9 May GHQ attack case. Sheikh Rashid and Zartaj Gul are also conspicuous among others who had been indicted.
Taking to the X PTI maintained: “The arrest of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub* and former Punjab law minister Raja Basharat** in a fabricated case exposes the reality of an undeclared martial law in Pakistan. The regime is weaponizing institutions to crush opposition, and dismantle free speech. Such acts reflect desperation, not strength!”
