Attack on IK: SC directs IG to register FIR

ISLAMABAD: SCP, noticing that despite passage of 90 hours no FIR has yet been registered on the Wazirabad attack on former PM Imran Khan, directed the IGP to do the needful.

CJP held that non-registration of FIR meant that Police has yet not commenced the investigation: “If the police did not investigate, the evidence may have been destroyed at the crime scene. This way the evidence of the case will be controversial and will be unacceptable in court.”

CJP warned that if the IGP failed to do his job the SCP would take suo motu notice and he would be answerable: “There was an attempt to kill a national leader, realize the sensitivity of the matter. Investigate, collect evidence and get a forensic conducted.”
